NO EXPERIENCE needed, just be willing to meet new people, share some laughs and have some fun.

Szczypta Hike and Pancake Breakfast
A small group of hikers, including scouts aiming for their nature badge, dodged raindrops for an early morning hike on the Szczypta property. They worked up an appetite and joined in on a great pancake breakfast offered by the First Congregational Church. Nearly 150 people enjoyed a great breakfast with real maple syrup!

Trivia Night!
Eleven teams people participated in a lively Southampton trivia night resulting in a sudden-death last question tie-breaker! It was a fun evening and some 90 people learned a bit more about the town's history!

Szczypta Conservation Hike
On Saturday, March 29 at 8 am celebrate the Town’s 250th anniversary with a hike on the Szczypta Conservation area, on lower Glendale Road. Meet at the Congregational Church at 7:40 am to form carpools, or at 7:50 at the Szczypta parking area. This is a one mile down and back fairly gentle hike through meadows to a stream. Could be muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. There could be ticks, also. Dress for the weather.
We will return in time to attend the pancake breakfast back at the Church. Please sign up or ask questions by emailing Cindy Palmer at lucindamail@yahoo.com
Merchandise Order Form
Merchandise celebrating Southampton turning 250 is now available for purchase! Items will be ordered when the minimum purchase requirements have been met. If minimums are not met and the item not ordered, funds will be returned. Order forms should be mailed or delivered to the town clerk's office with your payment by cash or check.
Additional items will be available for purchase in the future, including a grey t-shirt with a color 250th logo and etched stemless wine glasses. Stay tuned for future merchandise items!
Commemorative Stamp Project:
These commemorative stamps were designed by Mr. Hodgson’s sixth-graders at William E. Norris School. As part of an English Language Arts unit, they read a novel with a local history theme whose characters inspired them to learn more about Southampton's history and its 250th anniversary. The artwork on the stamps represents what some 60 students decided were iconic images of their Southampton. Watch here!

Two more hikes to the top are now scheduled: Friday, January 10th and Saturday, January 18th. Assume a 9:00 -12:00 timeframe. Pre-registration is required, and preference is given to Southampton residents. To register, please email Cindy Palmer at lucindamail@yahoo.com, or text her at 413-320-1312. Groups will meet at Town Hall to form carpools as parking from the starting point is limited. Other details will be provided upon registration.
Weather caused the postponement of a New Year's hike to the summit of Pomeroy Mountain. But on Saturday, January 4th, twenty-seven people completed the hike on a cold and very windy morning!

On New Year's Day a few people did decide to go for a shorter hike at Wolf Hill Sanctuary.

_________
Then, before the football games, gather the whole family on the front lawn of the First Congregational Church at 11:45 to hear about the town’s founding and to acknowledge its Native American origins, followed at noon by ringing of the church bell 250 times! To warm up, come inside for a light lunch of homemade soups and artisan breads, coffee and cider. Everyone is welcome! Please join in this very special occasion as we begin a year-long celebration of Southampton’s milestone anniversary!
