The Bylaw Review Advisory Committee is appointed by the Select Board to review the current Bylaws and recommend changes to the Select Board.

Previous Public Input Meetings

On May 16th, 2024 at 6:30 PM, Town residents will have an opportunity to comment on a proposed draft of the Tag Sales Bylaw. The meeting will be held in the Select Board room.  For persons unable to attend the Public Meeting, the Committee will accept comments via email until May 31st. (bylawreview@townofsouthampton.org).  All comments received by the date of the meeting will be read at the Public Meeting.

**Based on feedback received at the May public meeting and during the online comment period, the Bylaw Review Advisory Committee voted to withdraw the draft Tag Sales bylaw from consideration at its June 12, 2024 meeting. The Committee appreciates the time and interest of individuals who provided their views on the draft.  

October 23, 2023 @ 7PM, Town residents have an opportunity to comment on a proposed draft of the Town's Unregistered Vehicles Bylaw. The meeting will be held in the Select Board room.  

March 31, 2022 @ 7PM, Town residents have an opportunity to comment on a proposed draft of the following two Town bylaws.

       - Humane Care and Treatment of Domesticated Animals
       - Dogs/Dog Licenses/Kennels/Complaints

September 21, 2021 @6:30 PM, Town residents have an opportunity to comment on a proposed draft of the following three Town bylaws.

- Soliciting/Canvassing
- Nuisance/Peace and Quiet
- Building Numbering 
 

Demonstration and Information Session for New Bylaw System

The Bylaw Review Committee hosted a demonstration and information session of the Town’s new, web-based bylaw system on Monday, April 10th, 2023 in the first floor conference room. The demonstration was conducted by a representative of General Code, the company selected to codify and reorganize Southampton’s General and Zoning Bylaws. The new system significantly improves access and utilization of one of the Town’s most important information sources.
