Government

The Town of Southampton has an Open Town Meeting form of government and consists of a mix of appointed and elected officials, predominately elected. There is great concern around accountability and unity. The Town has six primary elected bodies/individuals: Select Board, Board of Assessors, Board of Health, Board of Water Commissioners, Treasurer/Collector, and the Town Clerk. The position of the Town Administrator was established around 2008 by Town Bylaw.
